David Roberts , Co-Founder and Chief Executive

As co-founder and CEO of ESTAMA UK David is actively involved in the strategy and day to day running of the company.

He has over 40 years’ experience in the UK and German commercial property markets. In the retail sector in particular he has been responsible for the purchase sale and management of over 70 shopping centres and retail investments and has a comprehensive understanding of the industry.

David founded Edinburgh House Estates in 2001 together with Tony Quayle. Prior to that he was CEO of Bourne End Properties PLC a fully listed company on the London stock exchange.

Estama GMBH was founded in 2005 to manage the company’s portfolio in Germany and ESTAMA UK was formed in 2014 to meet the growing demand to manage third party investments in the retail and banking sector.

Amongst his other interests David is a keen art collector and set up a non-profit art foundation in 2007. The institute has worked with over 100 museums and art organisations around the world and collaborated with many internationally known artists and curators.

Tony Quayle, Co-Founder and Senior Consultant

A Civil Engineer, Tony was formerly UK Head of Construction for retailer BAA McArthur/Glen, overseeing the design and delivery of its Designer Outlet Villages across the UK with an annual development budget of £350m and delivering 1m+ sq ft of retail space.

In 1998 he became Development Director at Bourne End Properties Plc with responsibility for development projects across its UK portfolio. In 2001 he co-founded Edinburgh House Estates with David Roberts He spearheaded Edinburgh House Estates’ acquisition programme in Germany from 2004 onwards, building a €1bn+ portfolio.

In 2005 David Roberts and Tony founded ESTAMA as their in-house asset and property management platform in the UK and Germany, and Tony is responsible for all operational activities of the Group.

Eoin Conway, Managing Director

As Managing Director at ESTAMA UK, Eoin is responsible for all operational activities of the Group and manages the administrative and operational functions of the business, working closely with all departments to ensure successful returns on the assets and properties across ESTAMA’s diverse portfolio. With over fifteen years’ experience as a Chartered Accountant in the property sector, Eoin’s financial expertise sees him work closely with the finance team to manage the risk across the portfolio, including underwriting, monitoring tenant exposure and banking covenants, investor reporting, annual business plans and general portfolio analysis.

Alongside the asset management team, Eoin is instrumental in running scenario analysis for developments and property management initiatives to evaluate viability.

Eoin has been a Director at Estama for a number of years, having previously worked as a risk analyst with a commercial lender. In this role he was involved in the business management of the UK loan book comprising c. £20bn of commercial investment and development loans. He was heavily involved in the NAMA split in Ireland as well as the preparatory work for the restructuring plan submitted to the EU. Eoin developed his expertise working with a private investor on commercial and residential assets located in the UK, France and Ireland. In this role, he was involved with the management and financing of c. £400m of commercial property and development and management of c. £40m residential property.

Eoin is a chartered management accountant with degrees in mathematics and engineering.

Andy Conway, Asset Manager

Andy is responsible for the asset management of several shopping centres across the UK. Prior to joining Estama, he has spent 10+ years working in the commercial property sector. Andy started his career in a property management role and therefore has experience in both property and asset management.

Ross Campbell, Head of UK Investment & Transactions

Ross Campbell, Head of UK Investment & Transactions
With over 20 years’ experience working in the retail property sector, Ross is Head of UK Investment in addition to being responsible for the asset management of various large shopping centres within ESTAMA UK’s diverse property portfolio.

He has advised on over £2.5bn of shopping centre purchases and disposals, with the disposal of Grand Central Shopping Centre in Birmingham a particular highlight, achieving a record 3.75% and £345m, c. £100m above the client’s valuation. In the last 12mths has been involved in the successful sale of a number of none core assets for the company. In addition to investment he is a driven asset manager, responsible for some of ESTAMA larger UK’s assets to maximise performance, Ross is responsible for ensuring a strong return for investors.

Having qualified as a surveyor in the late 1990s, Previously a Director at Savills and Cushman & Wakefield but has always had a keen focus on leasing shopping centres, high street property and fashion parks.

Ross has experience in fund management and has a comprehensive understanding of the potential constraints of properties and developments held in joint ventures, funds, or mixed ownerships, ensures he delivers across his assets.

Mansing Awotar, Head of Finance

Mansing Awotar, Financial Controller, is a Chartered Certified Accountant with over 15 years’ experience in Real Estate. Mansing joined Estama UK in January 2018 as Head of Property Accounts.

During his time with the company, Mansing has helped with the re-structure and streamlining of the finance team. He is responsible for the group financial accounting as well as the interlink between property and financial reporting for third-party clients.

As a finance professional, Mansing takes pride in providing an excellent service delivery.

James Nelson, Senior Property Management Surveyor

James has over 25 years experience in commercial property management, with 15 years of this spent with Westfield overseeing assets across New Zealand and Australia. James has also worked as a Senior Director at JLL Australia overseeing a wide portfolio of assets.

George Grimes, Head of Property Management

As Head of Property Management at ESTAMA UK, George’s role sees him work closely with the wider ESTAMA UK team to develop the operational management and efficiency of the portfolio under management.

With over twelve years’ experience in the retail property sector, George is an experienced Property Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the real estate industry. George has worked across a wide range of shopping centres, retail parks, outlet centres and offices throughout the UK handling day-to-day property management and overseeing portfolio management.

Before joining ESTAMA UK George was a Client Director at MAPP, where he oversaw the retail portfolios of two of MAPPs largest and key clients, AEW UK and Orchard Street Investment Management whose portfolios consisted of 10 shopping centres, 30+ Retail Parks, and 40+ mixed use developments. Prior to MAPP, George worked at Savills managing a range of shopping centres, and retail parks for a variety of clients such as Addington Capital, RDI REIT, and LaSalle IM.

In his spare time, George is a keen traveller visiting countries all over the world to experience their unique cultures. He is also a keen reader, often learning about medieval and ancient history. He is a passionate football fan, supporting his favourite team, Chelsea FC.

Hazel Leung, Chartered Accountant

Hazel is a chartered accountant with over fourteen years of accounting & auditing experience.

Before joining Estama UK in September 2021, Hazel worked for a few listed companies in the venture capital investment, pharmaceutical and tech start-up sectors. Hazel’s experience in investors relationship management also benefits her client facing work in Estama.

She is responsible for management of the financial reporting and statutory compliance for a number of SPVs involved in the acquisition and disposal of numerous assets, which bring with them their own accounting and due diligence competencies. She is responsible for the third party accounting side of the ESTAMA business model and is in regular contact with clients to maintain good working relationships.

As a professional, Hazel believes in using streamlined approaches to deliver tasks and solving problems.

Sandy Nimmo, Investment Analyst

Sandy is an Investment Analyst and a Property Management Surveyor within the ESTAMA property team. Sandy joined ESTAMA having previously spent time with both Savills and Intu working across their shopping centre portfolios. His experience across both surveying and analytical roles provides him with a practical understanding of the application of the analytical data and strategy.

When not in the spreadsheets, Sandy competes in triathlons and other long distance events and recently completed the gruelling Celtman Extreme Scottish Triathlon.
